Chicago, IL (population 2.7 million) is home to the University of Chicago and its Place Lab, led by Theaster Gates. This project proposes building on previous ArtPlace investment by creating a creative business incubator to support and launch artist-led businesses in Chicago's Washington Park community. The proposed facility will provide office space, business skill training, and access to financing and professional networks, as well as collaborative community workspace.
