The old loafing shed at the NW corner of the Barn could not be re-used for the expansion, so volunteers removed it and saved the barn boards and the rusted metal roofing.

Fall of 2014, the floor was poured for a 3600 square foot addition which has space for more artist studios, an event area, a commercial kitchen, restrooms and storage.

The addition reflects indigenous agricultural architecture. Volunteers will stain the exterior spring of 2015.

Another grant was received to complete the men's and women's restrooms inside the addition. As of April 2015 additional funds are being raised to install more electrical, the HVAC system, insulation, doors and wall finishes. Volunteers will paint.

Building on nearly 20 years of volunteer-led revitalization efforts, the expansion of the self-sustaining Uniontown Creativity Center and associated public art installations will improve the connection to the rural town’s historic business center, increase the integration of creativity in the town’s fabric and solidify the identity of Uniontown as a center of creativity.

The ArtPlace grant helped to fund a much-needed addition to the Artisans at the Dahmen Barn facility, a regional creativity center.
