ARTUP
Consulting work in the area that includes community-engaged design, workshop facilitation, and project identification and management. ArtUp consultants include artists AND community members trained in arts-based community revitalization, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. They work with urban and rural locations across the country. Based in the Mid-South, they offer customizable training nationwide, in person and remotely.

CENTER FOR COMMUNITY PROGRESS
Learning exchanges include a selected group of participants but most training is free and can also be offered remotely. Learning exchanges have taken place in Albany, NY; Macon, GA; and Kalamazoo, MI. Future learning exchanges will be offered. Sessions are offered at our Reclaiming Vacant Properties Conference, which will take place in Atlanta, GA in October 2019. Check out their publication and webinar.

CHAMBER MUSIC AMERICA
"Sound Places," CMA's pilot program, was initiated to provide a framework for ensembles to do this type of work. They are in the process of retooling their Residency Program to become a Creative Placemaking Program. Thus far, they have created the free toolkit for musicians who are curious about their communities, passionate about civic engagement, and interested in improving public spaces using their music as a catalyst for change but have not otherwise engaged in actual training or technical assistance.

FORECAST
Forecast packaged our over 40 years of knowledge and experience to bring you learning and professional development opportunities both in-person and online. We customize trainings and workshops for artists, community leaders and allied professionals. We provide key knowledge about managing public art projects, facilitate sessions to help take ideas from formation to implementation, and train community members on how to envision creative places and work with artists.

  • Making It Public: a 2 day in-person intensive workshop for artists who are interested in moving their private practices into the public realm.
  • Co-Authoring Artworks: In this workshop, we’ll discuss artworks that require collaboration from the public. We will look at example projects, artists, and methods of relational, participatory, and interactive artworks to understand the differences and similarities between these genres. Together we will create our own artwork that engages the public as collaborators and co-authors in both the process and the project.
  • Bridging the Gap: Our talented staff is available to train you to facilitate your own public art meetings and projects.
  • Connecting the Dots: Together we will uncover the opportunities for public art and placemaking that lie ahead, while building a cross-sector leadership team through a temporary art piece.
  • Equity Training: a one day, in-person workshop for artists and affiliated professionals who are interested in implementing equitable practices, audits, and policies in their public art collections.

NACEDA
A network of state and regional associations partner with NACEDA to offer creative placemaking community development introduction material using examples of ‘on the ground’ work. In late 2019, they will begin offering training on creative placemaking public policy as it relates to community development. NACEDA’s fee-based training can be customized and is offered remotely and in person in Massachusetts, Philadelphia, Ohio and New Jersey.

NATIONAL CONSORTIUM FOR CREATIVE PLACEMAKING
NCCP's spectrum of learning opportunities for individuals includes webinars, workshops, Leadership Summits, a Certificate in Creative Placemaking. Our place-based educational offerings are one-day Strategy Labs and 6-9-month Community Coaching. Some training is free, some fee based. The on-site portions of the Certificate are held in Manchester and northern New Jersey and workshops are held in Orange, NJ and Philadelphia. Webinars are also available.

NATURALL OCCURRING CULTURAL DISTRICTS NY
Regular learning exchanges about multiple themes such as working with government and strengthening cultural hubs and networks. Co-sponsor of an annual cultural organizing workshop. They will work one on one with groups doing community based placemaking. Most training opportunities are open to all based in NYC as well as remotely, are free and fee-based and are customizable.
