We are pleased to announce the Bush Foundation has joined as our newest partner foundation. For over 60 years, the Foundation has been encouraging individuals and organizations to think bigger and think differently about what is possible in communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations that share the same geographic area. The Foundation invests in great ideas and the people that power them.
Arts, culture, and creativity are core to the Foundation’s goal to “inspire, equip and connect” people and organizations, recognizing that art can help people think bigger and think differently. Arts and culture strategies can also help communities solve problems or discover new opportunities, which is why the Foundation’s Community Creativity initiative is setting out to make art central to problem solving on more issues, in more communities, across more sectors.
Through ArtPlace’s National Creative Placemaking Fund, this new partnership will expand future investments throughout the region that the Bush Foundation serves. “We are thrilled to have the Bush Foundation join the ArtPlace family,” says Jamie Bennett, ArtPlace’s executive director. “We look forward to working with the foundation to support artists, culture bearers, and arts organizations in joining their neighbors in creative problem solving around the critical issues facing communities across Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and the 23 Native nations sharing the same geography.”
