This week we are thrilled to welcome two new team members to the ArtPlace team:
Sarah Calderon and Marirosa García!
Sarah joins us as our new Managing Director, focusing on the management of ArtPlace and working with all of our colleagues on the connections and synergies among our work. Sarah comes to us from Casita Maria Center for the Arts & Education (Bronx, NY). During her tenure as executive director, Sarah spearheaded the opening of a new facility and developed partnerships with entities ranging from Lincoln Center to the NYC Housing Authority. In addition to a deep background in arts education and significant experience with research and data analysis, Sarah has a love of salsa and surfing documentaries.
Marirosa comes to us from the publishing world, bringing with her the ability to craft clean and coherent narratives across multiple platforms – in other words, she is going to seriously amp up our social media presence! As Social Media Manager, she will drive our efforts to continually engage everyone who cares about creative placemaking field through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and (she has already threatened) Tumblr. So please, keep Marirosa’s inbox full with everything that is happening with you. Marirosa is also a published author with her first novel, Even If the Sky Falls, coming out from Katherine Tegen Books in May 2016.
